**Due to high demand, there is a perpetual multi-week lead time on bassoon reeds. Please check the gray announcement bar at the top of my website for an updated predicted wait time before you place your order. If you absolutely need these reeds faster than that wait time, you may choose to contact me once you place your order and request a “rush order” which will include a $50 fee to jump to the top of the queue. You may also request to upgrade your shipping to overnight by paying the difference of the shipping included in your order. Rush times are subject to availability.
These reeds are recommended for players with less than one year of experience on the bassoon, or for anyone looking for a reed that plays more like a “Soft” hardeness. These reeds are scraped slightly thinner compared to the intermediate-advanced level in order to provide the same level of stability in intonation, but may not play with as high of a level of tone quality as the intermediate/advanced reeds. My motto remains: “let the reed do the work!”
Cane Type: Rigotti or Lavoro
Shape: Rieger 1a (MD1)
All cane is processed from tube cane (from scratch) by Ariel herself.
*In an effort to create sustainable packaging, reeds are shipped in a recyclable aluminum tin box, padded with “Who Gives a Crap” brand paper towels, which are made of fast-growing bamboo.
**Colors: Random colors only, if you order more than one reed I try to supply different colors for each reed.
